Abstract
Reaction of iron(III) acetylacetonate with K2CS3 in DMF and precipitat ion with [PPh(4)]Cl gives [PPh(4)](3)[Fe(CS3)(3)]. H2O, the crystal st ructure of which shows octahedrally-coordinated iron centers within th e discrete [Fe(CS3)(3)](3-) anions with interesting electronic structu re. The CS32- group acts as a bidentate ligand with resulting FeS dist ances ranging from 2.286 to 2.323 Angstrom.
