A new bis(ferrocenyl)-appended macrocycle and two new differently size
d ferrocenophanes have been prepared from ferrocenylpyrazole subunits.
Their structure has been established by H-1 and C-13 NMR spectroscopy
and compared with that of corresponding opened ligands. Electrochemic
al measurements and modeling studies confirm the strain present in fer
rocenophanes. Complexation reactions with Ru(DMSO)(4)Cl-2 do not permi
t to isolate stable complexes.
