Km. Choi et Jw. Stansbury, NEW FAMILIES OF PHOTOCURABLE OLIGOMERIC FLUOROMONOMERS FOR USE IN DENTAL COMPOSITES, Chemistry of materials, 8(12), 1996, pp. 2704
Photopolymerizable methacrylate-based resins with moderate-to-high org
anofluorine contents may improve the hydrophobicity, durability, and t
oughness of composites used in aesthetic dental filling applications.
A variety of multi-functional oligomeric fluorinated monomers were dev
eloped and evaluated with the goal of identifying polymer systems that
combine high strength, low water sorption, and minimal polymerization
shrinkage. Certain fluorooligomer resin compositions prepared here ap
pear capable of successfully meeting these challenges.
