A series of polymeric salts of p-substituted benzoic acids in methacry
late-co-N,N-dimethylaminopropylacrylamide) were prepared and AC impeda
nce studies of film-attached electrodes were carried out. The impedanc
e curves and conductivity variation-with temperature were analysed. Th
e parameter which describes the shape of the circular arcs in the impe
dance curves was temperature independent, and the distribution of rela
xation times remained constant during the test on the material. Furthe
rmore, the ionic conductivity was highly dependent on the chemical str
ucture produced by the substituted benzoic group.
