Abstract
We have demonstrated the linear transformation of a pulse chirp throug h second-order cascading in a degenerate phase-matched optical paramet ric amplifier by means of the self-diffraction process. We have measur ed as much as seven-fold enhancement of a frequency sweep rate in the diffracted idler pulses with no visible onset of intensity-dependent e ffects.
