Abstract
In this paper the crack-growth resistance of wood is discussed on the basis of an energy consideration. The 'K-C-constant load-displacement curve' method has been used to obtain the crack-growth resistance curv es for two different orientations of mode I fracture. These fracture r esistance curves give a more relevant and exact result on the crack pr opagation in wood than LEFM's parameters like K-IC.
