Ak. Bhatnagar et Kv. Reddy, DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OPTICAL-ENERGY GAPS OF GLASSY AND CRYSTALLINE SELENIUM-TELLURIUM ALLOYS, Indian Journal of Pure & Applied Physics, 34(7), 1996, pp. 489-491
The photoacoustic technique has been used to determine the optical ene
rgy gaps of glassy and crystalline Se-Te alloys as a function of Te co
ncentration. It is found that the energy gap of glassy Se-Te alloys is
always higher than that of crystalline alloys. Surprisingly, this diff
erence in the energy gaps of crystalline and glassy Se-Te alloys does
not depend upon the composition.
