Abstract
The non-resonant energy transfer Yb --> Tm in indium based fluoride gl asses has been studied in the temperature range 10-300 K. The transfer parameters donor-donor and donor-acceptor have been calculated from t he kinetic models and from the Miyakawa-Dexter model. It is concluded that processes with 1, 2 or 3 phonons participate in the energy transf er. The mechanism and the efficiency of the up-conversion Tm3+ emissio n at 800 nm are investigated.
