Abstract
Transition metal ions limit the light emission from wide band gap II-V I phosphor materials. Nickel, iron and chromium deactivate the visible luminescence of ZnSe due to the bypassing and three center Auger proc esses. For ZnMnS the donor-acceptor pair (DAP) emission is deactivated by spin dependent energy transfer transitions from DAPs to Mn ions.
