Abstract
Fleckvieh-cows pregnant in the 7th month were either treated with IVOM EC Pouron (0,5 mg Ivermectin / kg btw.) or administered the Paratect F lex bolus (active agent: Moranteltartrat for cattle), After calving, c ows and calves were turned out on pasture, Despite a low worm burden, as judged by the coproscopic findings, calves showed clear differences in body weight gain: calves of cows treated with IVOMEC Pour-on had g ained more weight than their mates of cows treated with the Paratect F lex bolus, The farmer had at sate a surplus of about DM 100, - for eac h male weanling of the Pour-on group. The different weight gin is attr ibuted to the different antiparasitic efficacy of the drugs used.
