Vg. Surin et Ri. Goloudin, SPECTRAL CHARACTERISTICS OF REED LEAVES AS AN INDICATOR OF THE ECOLOGICAL STATE OF WATER RESERVOIRS, Earth observation and remote sensing, 13(2), 1995, pp. 205-211
The results of spectroscopic analysis of the leaves of common reed in
the coastal zone of the Neva Bay and in the east part of the Gulf of F
inland are discussed. It is shown that the optical properties of the c
oastal-aqueous vegetation depend on the chemical composition of soils;
particularly, on the presence of heavy metals in them. It is suggeste
d that the established regularities can be used for revealing and mapp
ing contaminated regions of the bottom of water areas by proceeding fr
om the data of multiple-zone remote surveys.
