MENISCAL REPAIR ENHANCEMENT TECHNIQUES

Meniscal repair has become a commonplace procedure for the treatment o f meniscal injuries. Although clinical studies have shown excellent re sults following repair of tears within the peripheral vascular zone of the meniscus, various techniques have been developed to optimize repa ir possibilities in the marginally vascularized areas of the meniscus. This article examines the basic science rationale for these repair en hancement techniques.
