In this study, a macro-ergonomic risk assessment tool was developed ba
sed on criteria of scope, simplicity, practicality, usefulness, reliab
ility and job-specificity. A relative stress index 'RSI' was formulate
d to take into account multiple parameters, such as frequency, duratio
n, repetition, weight, force, travel distance and horizontal distance.
This tool was tested in nuclear remediation industry, The results are
