Abstract
The paper describes an energy-conserving procedure for the implicit no n-linear dynamic analysis of planar beam structures. The method is bas ed on a form of co-rotational technique which is 'external to the elem ent'. A range of numerical results are presented which clearly demonst rate the improved numerical performance in comparison with more conven tional techniques.
