Crystals of a novel histidine protein kinase domain of the anaerobic s
ensor protein ArcB from Escherichia coli have been obtained by a hangi
ng-drop vapor-diffusion method with micro- and macroseeding techniques
. Preliminary X-ray crystallographic analysis revealed that they belon
g to space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with dimensions a = 30.56, b = 34.93 an
d c = 110.78 Angstrom, having one molecule in the crystallographic asy
mmetric unit. The crystals diffract to at least 2.0 Angstrom resolutio
n.
