GENERATION OF OLIGOSACCHARIDE AND GLYCOCONJUGATE LIBRARIES FOR DRUG DISCOVERY

Oligosaccharides play many important roles in biological processes and in pathology. Combinatorial library technologies for the rapid identi fication of potential oligosaccharide and glycoconjugate drugs could p rovide valuable tools for drug discovery, although rapid and efficient access to library constituents would be required. Developments in the solid-phase synthesis of oligosaccharides and glycoconjugates will pr ovide the tools for medicinal chemists to generate combinatorial libra ries of these complex systems in the future.
