Ld. Sun et al., ELECTRON-DIFFRACTION STUDY OF VAPORIZED-METAL CLUSTERS PRODUCED BY A NOZZLE SOURCE, Materials science & engineering. A, Structural materials: properties, microstructure and processing, 217, 1996, pp. 15-18
The electron diffraction measurement of Sb and Bi vapor beams ejected
by adiabatic expansion from a nozzle source showed a halo pattern, ind
icating that clusters included in the beams were in liquid state. By t
he introduction of He gas, the electron diffraction pattern became str
ong. The RDF analysis showed the higher order arrangement of the clust
er, and the cluster size was estimated to be larger than a few tens of
atoms.
