Abstract
The observational data on the behavior of cloud mesoclusters in the No rth-West Pacific during conditions immediately preceding typhoon arriv ing an aquatory under study are presented. The data were obtained from the simultaneous GMS satellite and Doppler radar measurements. Specia l data processing has revealed the spatiotemporal characteristics of t he convective turbulence which are used to develop its tentative model necessary for choosing the working parameters of satellite Doppler ra dars.
