Abstract
Recent epidemiological surveys indicated that the rate of morbidity an d mortality from motor neuron disease (MND) has increased worldwide. W e evaluated whether the incidence of the disease has also changed in P adua, Italy, using a retrospective method to study all MND cases hospi talized in the Padua district from 1980 to 1991. As in other regions o f the world, we also found an increased incidence of the disease.
