Simultaneous dissolution followed by chemical reaction in homogeneous
phase, of monodisperse particles of two solids in a well-mixed slurry
has been modeled. The resulting system of first-order ordinary differe
ntial equations has been solved numerically. The results of the simula
tion have been presented, as the transient kinetic-invariant function
together with the concentration phase-plane plots. Physical explanatio
ns of the results on the kinetic function and the phase-plane behavior
have been provided. The model for physical dissolution of solids has
been presented as a special case.
