RESEARCH-AND-DEVELOPMENT NEEDS AND OPPORTUNITIES IN FREEZE-DRYING

Experimental and theoretical research acid development studies are pro posed and presented in important areas of the freeze drying process. T he practical importance of the synergistic integration of advanced the oretical models and experiments is indicated, and the potential contri butions of the proposed studies in the appropriate design, scale-up, c ontrol, and prediction of the dynamic behavior of freeze dryers and of the freeze drying process, are presented and discussed.
