In this paper, a study of dielectric loading for shielded edge-coupled
conductor-backed coplanar waveguide (CBCPW) is carried out with respe
ct to mode coupling, isolation, and coupling factor. It is shown that
with appropriate dielectric loading, mode coupling can be avoided whil
e maintaining good isolation and impedance characteristics. Also, the
effect of variation in enclosure, slot, and strip dimensions on the di
spersion and impedance characteristics of dielectric-loaded edge-coupl
ed CBCPW is presented. The results have been obtained using the semian
alytical technique, Method of Lines.
