Novel half-sandwich complexes of the type CpSn(OBu(t))(3)M (M = Ge-II,
Sn-II, Pb-II; Cp = C5H5) have been prepared conveniently by salt elim
ination reactions of CpSnCl with potassium alkoxometalates, [KM(OBu(t)
)(3)](n). The single-crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis performed
on (C5H5)Sn(mu(2)-OBu(t))(2)Ge(OBu(t)) reveals an average effect of e
ta(3) and eta(1) bonding modes of the cyclopentadienyl ring to the tin
atom.
