Abstract
This article describes the network system NTT has developed to provide cell relay service based on ATM technology, which was selected in vie w of the continuity with B-ISDN in the future. The specific topics dis cussed are cell relay service and the associated network configuration , the hardware and software technologies and the related operation and maintenance functions.
