PSYCHOSOCIAL PROBLEMS AND SUICIDE IN YOUT HS - PRESENT STATE AND PERSPECTIVES

Adolescent suicide is an important research item since it has increase d in the last decades. This paper reviews the current epidemiological approach of this issue in Mexico and other countries, taking the adole scent population as a guide to understand the impact of this problem. Some risk factors: psychiatric disorders, previous suicide behavior, a lcohol and drug use are mentioned. A documented review of studies abou t suicide in Mexico is given. Finally, the authors expose some present findings and reflections to consider for investigating this problem u nder the gender psyche-social perspective like an analysis axis.
