Abstract
Three pigmented flagellates: Gloeomonas mamillosa, Lobomonas tubulata (Chlamydomonadales, Chlorophyceae) and Strombomonas quadrangularis (Eu glenales, Euglenophyceae) are described as new taxa from material coll ected in two freshwater bodies located in the Municipality of Rio de J aneiro, Rio de Janeiro State, southeastern Brazil.
