A. Hamwi et V. Marchand, SOME CHEMICAL AND ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF GRAPHITE OXIDE, Journal of physics and chemistry of solids, 57(6-8), 1996, pp. 867-872
Graphite oxide is a very hygroscopic compound and can accommodate up t
o 12wt% of water in its structure. Specific treatments afforded deriva
tives that present definitely no affinity for water and in which the h
ydroxy/epoxy ratio may be modified according to the treatment. These g
raphite oxide derivatives were characterized by X-ray powder diffracti
on, and IR and NMR spectroscopies. Electrochemical measurements were p
erformed with these compounds as cathode material in liquid electrolyt
e lithium batteries.
