The magnetic properties of CucCo1-cCl2-FeCl3 GBICs have been studied u
sing DC and AC magnetic susceptibility measurements. The Curie-Weiss t
emperature is positive for all concentration c. The AC magnetic suscep
tibility shows two broad peaks at T-cu and T-d due to the spin orderin
gs in the CucCo1-cCl2 layers and the FeCl3 layers, respectively. These
spin orderings are coupled to each other through an interplanar excha
nge interaction, leading to the decrease of T-cu and T-cl with increas
ing Cu concentration. The smearing of phase transitions at T-cu and T-
cl can be qualitatively explained in terms of the random field effects
