Abstract
A highly active rare earth coordination catalyst composed of neodymium acetylacetonate, dibutylmagnesium, and hexamethylphosphoramide (mole ratio 1:7:14) for the polymerization of N-phenylmaleimide (N-PMI) was developed. The resulting poly(N-PMI) has high molecular weight (<(M)ov er bar (n)> = 9.0 x 10(4)) and shows excellent thermal stability.
