Abstract
An overview is presented on current antiinflammatory, cytostatic/cytot oxic and immunomodulatory treatments for immunologically mediated infl ammatory myopathies with skin involvement. High-dose intravenous immun oglobulin (IVIG) therapy is discussed in the context of recent finding s regarding pathogenic mechanisms of autoimmune diseases.
