Abstract
Alumina ceramics was prepared by injection moulding of ceramic mixture containing alumina powder and thermoplastic binder. Strength and frac ture toughness of four sintered red ceramic powder materials were dete rmined. The three and four point flexure procedure were used to evalua te the strength. The three different methods of fracture toughness mea surement were compared: Single Edge Precracked Beam (SEPB), Single Edg e V Notch Beam (SEVNB) and Chevron V Notch (CVN). It was found that th e strength was reduced and the toughness increased compared with the r espective microstructure data.
