ACETOPHENONES AND OTHER CONSTITUTENTS FROM THE ROOTS OF MELICOPE ERROMANGENSIS

Octandrenolone and five novel related dimethylpyran acetophenones have been isolated from the chloroform extract of roots of Melicope erroma ngensis and identified by spectroscopic studies and chemical correlati ons as O-methyloctandrenolone, (+)-trans-3''', 4'''-dihydro-3''', 4''' -dihydroxy-O-methyloctandrenolone, (+)-trans-3 '', 4 ''-dihydroxy-O-me thyloctandrenolone, (+)-trans-3''', 4'''-dihydroxyoctandrenolone, and trans-3 '', 4-''-3 '', 4 ''-dihydroxyoctandrenolone. In addition, four known quinolines and three known flavones been isolated.
