Abstract
A multiband k . p theory was recently proposed [L. H. Peng and C. G. F onstad, J. Appl. Phys. 77, 747 (1995)] in order to discuss the influen ce of band mixing on the selection rules for intersubband and interban d optical transitions in quantum wells. We point out here that the ana lysis presented is incorrect. (C) 1996 American Institute of Physics.
