Abstract
Pfitzner-Moffatt oxidation of diethyl alpha-hydroxyalkynephosphonate 4 , prepared by nucleophilic attack of diethyl phosphite on the correspo nding aldehyde, followed by DAST fluorination of the resulting alpha-k etophosphonate 8, results in the smooth formation of alpha,alpha-diflu oroalkynephosphonate 7.
