E. Romberg et al., NO-NO2-CONVERSION MODEL FOR APPLICATION T O FORECAST AIR POLLUTIONS DUE TO AUTOMOBILE EXHAUST, Gefahrstoffe, Reinhaltung der Luft, 56(6), 1996, pp. 215-218
The emission of nitrogens as a part of automobile exhaust is an import
ant contribution of urban air pollutions. The primary part of the nitr
ogens is nitrogenmonoxyd, converted to nitrogen-dioxyd by airborne oxi
dants. A simple NO-NOx-conversion model to be applied on statistical N
Ox-results of air pollution-modelling is presented. This conversion-mo
del is based on the correlation of the NO2-conversion-rate and NOx-con
centrations in the lower boundary layer. Due to this correlation, the
results are controlled and interpretated by means of single case calcu
lations using a box-trajectory-model.
