THE NIZHNIK-VESELOV-NOVIKOV EQUATION - ASSOCIATED BOUNDARY-VALUE-PROBLEMS

Classes of boundary value problems are investigated on the half- and q uarter-plane for the eigenfunction equation associated with the Nizhni k-Veselov-Novikov equation. The approach is via the linear representat ion for the latter and allows the construction of solutions of certain boundary value problems for the modified Nizhnik-Veselov-Novikov equa tion. These solutions may be used as seeds in a Darboux-type transform ation for both the Nizhnik-Veselov-Novikov equation and its modified v ersion. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd.
