Abstract
We describe a new type of scanning magnetic microscope capable of imag ing magnetic properties of materials with, at present, 1 mu m resoluti on. We use carefully machined, nearly closed magnetic circuits to rest rict the dimensions of the fringing field of a sense head to approxima tely 1 X 1 mu m(2).
