Abstract
Excess molar enthalpies of binary mixtures of 2-propen-1-ol with 1,2-d ichloroethane, 1,1,1,-trichloroethane, 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane, tric hloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene have been measured at 298.15 K u sing a 1451 Parr model solution calorimeter. The excess enthalpy value s are positive in all the systems over the entire range of mole fracti on except for the system involving 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane. All the excess enthalpy curves are found to be S shaped. Comments on the effec t of intramolecular interactions on the intermolecular interactions ha ve been made on the basis of the experimental results.
