Abstract
The Fe2O3 ablation depth have been measured versus the laser fluence, these measurements show that the threshold fluence for Fe2O3 ablation is 0.27 J . cm(-2). A simple analytical model of resonant photo-ablati on gives a good agreement with the experiment for the threshold fluenc e. To evaluate the ablation depth, the Beer's law is sufficient to des cribe the ablation for the short pulses, but for the long pulses we ha ve developed a thermal model to estimate the Fe2O3 ablation depth vers us the laser pulse duration.
