We analyse the 2-dimensional distribution of 60-mu m IRAS sources on t
he celestial sphere, executing three tests respectively based on the r
ms fluctuation and the correlation function of the source number densi
ty, and the surface peak number statistics. We show that HDM models fi
t our data very well and allow us to select a best value lambda(peak)
= 45-55 h(-1) Mpc for the peak wavelength of the spectral function P (
k). For CDM models the tests give acceptable fits (and a very good one
for peak statistics) for Omega(o) h either in the range 0.3-0.5 or ar
ound 0.1-0.2, but we do not find a parameter interval satisfying all o
f our tests simultaneously.
