Spectral holes have been investigated between 7 and 50K on tetra-tert-
butyl-tetra-azaporphine (t-Bu-TAP) embedded in a number of polymers. T
he maximum position(nu(ph)) of the pseudo wing and the temperature dep
endence of the quasihomogeneous hole width(Gamma(qh)) have been measur
ed and compared to the known values of the Young's modulus(E') of the
matrix. We found that in polymers with larger E' the nu(ph) is higher
and the hole width is smaller. The influence of the dynamic mechanical
properties as well as the polarity and hydrogen bonding on intermolec
ular vibronic coupling is discussed.
