Abstract
Shock-wave generation by the laser-heated plasma ablation is studied b y extending the existing models. Fluid parameters characterizing the p rocess of laser-driven ablation and ablation-driven shock are derived and expressed as functions of the ratio between the light pressure and the thermal pressure of the plasma.
