Mixed ligand oxorhenium(V) complexes [ReO(SXS)(SeR)] containing terden
tate dithiol ligands HS-CH2CH2-X-CH2CH2-SH (HSXSH, X = O,S) and benzen
eselenol or benzylselenol, RSeH (R = C6H5, CH2-C6H5) as monodentate li
gands have been synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic and X-r
ay crystallographic methods. X-ray structure analysis of complex 3 (X
= O, R = C6H5) shows that the rhenium coordination number is five and
the coordination polyhedron is a square pyramid. Structure and spectro
scopic data of the complexes are close to those of the corresponding s
ulphur (RSH as monodentate ligand) compounds.
