We present a model-independent measurement of beta(D-s(-) --> phi pi())/beta(D-0 --> K- pi(+)) by partially reconstructing the decay B-0 --
> (DDs-)-D-*+. Using data collected with the CLEO II detector at CESR
, we determine beta(D-s(-) --> phi pi(-))/beta(D-0 --> K(-)pi(+)) = 0.
