Abstract
Tar balls and oil slicks were sampled on several beaches in the Canary Islands and analyzed, along with reference crude oils, for n-alkanes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by gas chromatography and spectro fluorimetry, respectively. Statistical treatment of the data including intercorrelations, Factor Analysis and Cluster Analysis allow the ide ntification of most of source-crudes.
