Gi. Marchuk et al., PROPAGATION OF IMPURITIES IN THE ATMOSPHE RE WITH CONSIDERATION FOR THEIR CONDENSATION, Izvestia Akademii nauk. Rossijskaa akademia nauk. Fizika atmosfery iokeana, 32(5), 1996, pp. 745-752
Propagation of impurities in the atmosphere is mathematically modeled,
the kinetics of condensation of vaporous components of impurities on
natural atmospheric aerosol being taken into account. The model is int
ended to calculate the long-range transport of impurities, their conde
nsation being taken into account. The information from the available d
ata files on the fields of meteorological elements can be used for the
input parameters in this model. The model is applied to calculate the
fields of concentrations of sulfuric acid vapor and sulfur dioxide, a
nd to calculate the size distribution of acid-containing aerosol parti
cles produced in the atmosphere. The calculations are performed for th
e three-dimensional mesh space stretching over the most part of Europe
. The local atmospheric volumes characterized by the enhanced concentr
ation of acid-containing aerosol are identified.
