Abstract
Specific heat measurements by adiabatic calorimetry are presented in t he range 80-300 K. A discussion of the phase transitions between diffe rent solid modifications of cyclooctanol is given. Special attention i s paid to the transition between the plastic phases. An attempt to obt ain a low-temperature ordered phase under ambient pressure failed. Evi dence for two glassy states is presented.
