Abstract
We present a neutral particle reconstruction algorithm based on a neur al network approach applied to the E687 hadron calorimeter. A measurem ent of the invariant mass of the Sigma(+/-) --> n pi(+) is presented t o verify the reliability of the reconstruction. The reconstructed inva riant mass of the charmed meson D+ --> K-L(0) pi(+)pi(+)pi(-) is also presented to show the possible application of this technique to charme d particles decaying into a neutral hadron. An example of this would b e Lambda(c)(+) --> nK(-)pi(+)pi(+).
