The Newton interferometer is a very useful instrument for testing opti
cal surfaces its use, however, require the use of a test plate, and fo
r this we must design properly the curvatures and thickness of the tes
t plate. So far, the equations for performing radii of curvature calcu
lations have been restricted to the paraxial approximation. In this wo
rk we establish the exact solution for such equation, and compare our
results with those obtained from the paraxial theory.
