Abstract
The synthetic route to obtain single crystals of dichloro{6, yne-N)]-4 ,4'-dimethyldiphenolato-O,O'}titanium(IV) is described. The X-ray anal ysis reveals that the title compound is a monomer with four molecules in the unit cell. There are only weak van der Waals-type forces betwee n neighboring molecules. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic s pace group P2(1)/c (No. 14). The Ti atom has a distorted octahedral co ordination, with chloride ions in trans positions.
